If there were no bees in the world, what would be the harm? But have you ever wondered what would happen if there really were no bees in the world? The problem is, 100 types of fruits and 90% of food crops in the world are pollinated by bees. Without bees, the production of crops or fruits will decrease. There will be food shortages. The question is, is the world moving in that direction??? Because there are 2 thirds of the number of bees in the world even 1 decade ago.

Science says that if bees disappear from the earth, then human civilization will last only four years. That means, humans will not be able to survive very long without bees. What if the bees really disappeared?

90% of the world's root crops are pollinated by bees. Crops will not survive if bees do not assist in pollination. Believe it or not, one out of every three human meals comes from bees. Bees contribute to 70% of the world's and 30% of the United States' food production.

But the problem is, bees are declining at an alarming rate. A third of all bees have disappeared in the last decade. And 24% of Europe's bees are on the verge of extinction.

The question is why the bees are disappearing? However, there are many reasons for this. Among which are notable pesticides, drought, habitat loss, food shortage, air pollution, global temperature rise and many more. In short, it is all man-made.

Major pesticide companies make pesticides and herbicides to protect crops from harmful pests. These include neonicotinoids or neonics for short. which kills the bees. In other words, pesticides are not actually protecting the crop but pushing it towards destruction.

Recently the European Union banned the use of pesticides containing neonics. Also working to create awareness about its harmful effects on bees. This move could save Europe's bees. But these same ingredients are found in pesticides used in home gardens. Therefore, before buying pesticides, check whether these ingredients are present.

Another enemy of bees is Varroa mite or Varroa destructor. This tiny insect kills bees. Even a single insect can wipe out an entire colony of bees. Colony Collapse Disorder or CCD disease in bees. So that all worker bees in a colony die overnight. Only the queen bee survives.

Scientists have found some ways to protect bees. Feeding bees mushroom extract reduces the attack of harmful viruses.

But apart from these, humans also have a lot to do in bee conservation. It doesn't have to be difficult. Instead of green grass around the house, vines that bear flowers and fruits should be planted. No pesticides or herbicides can be used in the garden. Because then garden plants can become poisonous and kill bees. Care should be taken that the seeds we buy are not pre-treated with neonics. Honey should be bought from local beekeepers.

Remember, time is running out. Whether or not the world's food crisis will end will largely depend on how well we can save bees.
